Very Close Proximity to Several Beautiful B.C. Lakes and Provincial Parks
There are several popular lakes within a half an hour of this Community offering sandy beaches, swimming, wind surfing, sailing, boating, jet skiing, wildlife and bird viewing and a variety of fishing experiences.
Wasa Lake Provincial Park, which is only about 15 minutes away 40 km north of Cranbrook, is considered the warmest swimming lake in the Kootenays, Moyie Lake Provincial Park is located approximately 20 km south of Cranbrook off Highway 3/95 and features 1300 metres of developed sandy beach. Rosen Lake & Tye Lake are located near Jaffray about 20 minutes from Cranbrook and are popular fishing destinations for trolling or bait fishing.
Lake Koocanusa is located west of Highway 3/93 with the best access being from Kikomun Creek Provincial Park. Lake Koocanusa is also a popular fishing destination for Kokanee, Salmon, and Rainbow Trout as well as being the home of Sunshine Houseboat Vacations.
Not to be overlooked is the pristine St. Mary’s River that this development is being built along which begins high in the Purcell Mountains and flows eastward until it empties into Kootenay River. The people of the surrounding cities have worked hard to make the waters of this river pristine.
